  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • cup cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 12 fl oz root beer, (1 can), preferably Dr Pepper
  • ½ cup bittersweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

To Serve:

  • maraschino cherries, or whipped cream, or ice cream of your choice

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and grease your preferred baking pan.
  2. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa powder, and cinnamon.
  3. Add the brown sugar and mix to combine.
  4. Pour the rootbeer into the bowl and stir until it is well blended into the brownie batter.
  5. Evenly fold the chocolate chips into the batter.
