muggle pursuits and obligations

filed under:

i am not reading this nearly fast enough!

I must confess that I have been waiting with baited breath for this book to come out and yes, I absolutely adore the Harry Potter series. And in case you are wondering, no, I haven't ever been a Star Trek, Star Wars or a Lord of the Rings fan. While I liked the books and movies of the last one, to me, nothing beats the Potter series.

And so the book is finally out and in my clutches. I'm not yet done with it, and I haven't been reading any chatter on the book, which has been tough given how prevalent and ample it is out there. I've somehow managed to block it out.

incredibly good & wholesome

However, muggle obsessions aside, and despite the fact that I lifted nary a finger this weekend in the kitchen, I still had to fulfill my guest writing gig at Accidental Hedonist. This week, it's all about quinoa - and reading the instructions on the box it came in, of course. Come and read all about it.

My hubby has our copy of the book and hasn't finished it yet, so I still had to cook this weekend! Next weekend, I'll be reading, and he can do the cooking....

Thank you Sassy, I've been waiting with baited breath for your quinoa recipe! Also, cheers to Scholastic and J.K. Rowling for printing Deathly Hallows on "greener" paper:

Maybe we'll see you try some of those Hogwarts-related recipes I've seen floating around, radish. :)

Lydia: KS has been doing wondrous things in the kitcnen. He made tabouleh this week, then sloppy joes (that were amazing!) then puerto rican rice pudding (SOOO good). So everything I am going to blog about this week is his doing. I've been working and working out :)

HI Fan in Chicago - that's great news about Scholastic - didn't know!

Jim - i am not sure about the recipes, because I'm a bit afraid that my current Potter/Horus interest is getting too far... Maybe I should stop at liking books :)

Hey, however nerdy you get about Potter, at least you haven't learned Klingon or Elvish. And if you can actually EAT the products of your nerdiness--even better!
