friday link love

image

Hello, friends. It’s Friday again, which means time for links. I’m a bit rushed this morning, so I’m going to keep this short. Andrew and I hope to do a little home improvement this weekend – maybe paint an accent wall or something. If anyone has any leads on beautiful, classic brass door knobs, can you please leave a comment below? Thanks!

I also hope to pick up another plant somewhere, and to sleep past 7am. I’m nothing if not ambitious. Oh, and I’d like to tinker with a Passover dessert I’ve been thinking on. I wish you all a relaxing and cozy spring weekend. xo, olga

The schedules of some of the greatest geniuses of all time. Fascinating how some work in small, concentrated bursts, furthering my belief that in some cases, creative work cannot follow a typical 9-5 schedule and must be done in spurts with some time for the brain to recharge.

How the rich and poor spend money today – and 30 years ago. There’s one common thread in decline in spending for both groups, and you’ll never guess what it is.

How’s my book writing going? Don’t ask me – I’m not telling.

A fascinating article on the study of spite. Here’s a quote that really stuck out at me:

From the survey and related experiments, the researchers determined that men were generally more spiteful than women and young adults more spiteful than older ones, and that spitefulness generally cohabited with traits like callousness, Machiavellianism and poor self-esteem — but not with agreeableness, conscientiousness or a tendency to feel guilt.

And last, but not least, here are some baby seals and their utter trust around a human being.

Have a great weekend! xo

Aw, every Friday should include baby seals :)

You have probably thought of this, but Etsy may have some vintage doorknobs? And if you have a building materials thrift store nearby, that’s the first place I would look…sorry I can’t be more helpful.
