Well, a picture paints a thousand words. I have been a bit too busy to visit your blog lately, but I have been watching the mouthwatering photos in my reader. This did it. I am a baked fruit pie, buckle and crisp kind-a-gal myself, and your peachy things send me spinning. I made poor girl gourmet Amy McCoy's blueberry crumble for a 4th of July party... so I need a new fruity treat for my nephew's first birthday. I think this looks like the ticket. My, oh my. Thank you Sassy. I will give it a whirl.

"So when the pie is baked, so are you"---best line ever. Made me smile and, oh, how I can relate. While I've made many a tart, muffin, and hand pie this summer I haven't yet made a good old fashioned pie. That will change soon. Thanks for the inspiration :)

I can think of nothing more satisfying than a slice of fruit pie with a dollop of vanilla ice cream during these summer months. All the sweat and complaints melt away with that first bite.
