Thanks everyone - seems like everyone is more of a butternut than an acorn. I think this is a message to KS ;-)For some reason I'm always like "Wha? NO chocolate? What's wrong with you???"

I am firmly in the butternut camp, though from time to time I am willing to venture forth to other winter squash (but not pumpkin, for some reason -- I really don't like it). Fortunately, my hubby is a butternut guy, too.

Jim and I always get offended at one another for not liking certain foods that the other covets---but he has turned me from hating smoked salmon and caviar to be being OBSESSED with it (I really should be mad at him for that, considering the expense!), so I'll keep my fingers crossed that KS will become a butternut!! :)

Love the placemat under the squash seeds ;-). And, of course, the seeds look delicious too.

Even before I got interested in the kitchen side of cooking, I was never "calm and composed" about my food. Any time they foist something new upon me they think I'll like, my friends watch my facial expressions carefully--they tell me I get the most expressive and enthusiastic when I'm tasting something truly delicious!
