Menu for Hope
UPDATE: The code on the prize I am giving away is UE24.
It’s time again for the Menu for Hope. Started three years ago by the wonderful Pim, of Chez Pim, this has been a wonderful way to do some good out there.
This year, Menu for Hope III is raising funds to support the UN World Food Programme, which provides hunger relief for those in need all over the world. Last year’s Menu for Hope raised over $17,000 for Unicef! Hopefully, we can raise even more this year!
So what do you do? Well, you simply make a $10 contribution to be entered for a prize (each ticket costs $10 and you can buy as many $10 tickets as you like and either try to get one prize, or as many different prizes as you have tickets). Various bloggers have donated an array of prizes – so choose those you like the most. Some prizes involve food goodies, cooking equipment, restaurant meals, or cooking time with a food blogger.
I am donating a box of 18 chocolates from one of my favorite artisanal chocolatiers, Kee’s Chocolates, as well as a year’s subscription to Donna Hay cooking magazine, my recent affectation.
If you’re interested in participating, here’s what you need to do:
1. Go to the donation page at First Giving.
2. Make a donation, each $10 will give you one raffle ticket toward a prize of your choice. Please specify which prize or prizes you’d like in the ‘Personal Message’ section in the donation form when confirming your donation. Do tell us how many tickets per prize, and please use the prize code – for example, a donation of $50 can be 2 tickets for UW01 and 3 for UW02. I will have a code generated to me and will post that shortly. So hang tight. The code for the prize I’m giving away is UE24.
3. If your company matches your charity donation, please remember to check the box and fill in the information so we could claim the corporate match.
4. Please also check the box to allow us to see your email address so that we could contact you in case you win. Your email address will not be shared with anyone.
5. Check back on Chez Pim on January 15th, 2007 when we announce the result of the raffle. (The drawing will be done electronically. Derrick of Obsession with Food will use his mad coding skillz (that’s right, with a z folks) to make this process efficient and unbiased! Thanks, Derrick!)
Thanks for your participation, good luck in the raffle, and don’t forget – not only do you get to give, but also possibly to receive!

Isn’t it amazing what bloggers and foodies can do when they set their minds to it?
I’m contacting you regarding my raffle ticket winning the Kees and Hay prize. I’m a HUGE fan of Donna Hay having lived in NZ for a while, so I’m thrilled to win this one.
