First the Freeze, Then the Thaw
I know how the food blog business works. You must post every day or every other day or you just seem like your heart’s not in it, like you’re just not dedicated enough, like you’ve changed your mind?
Well, it’s been really none of those things. And while food blogs aren’t places for personal, heart-related matters, I feel as if I must come clean and at least explain myself.
A little over a month ago, I underwent a breakup. And it wasn’t initiated by me. And I didn’t see it coming. The combination of a no-longer relationship I thought would eventually blossom into marriage, being left and lack of preparation proved to be a tough process to go through. I’m still picking up the pieces here and there, trying to move on. I try to spend little time in my apartment and to get out and see my friends, eat out, and so on.
Of couse, I could be writing restaurant reviews, and I will, but I needed a month of deep freeze and now that the spring is coming, the thaw will commence.
I am hoping that once this month is over, I’ll be back in full swing. Not only a recent dumpee, I’m working crazy hours (leaving me no time for cooking and some time to smear some hummus onto a pizza – and an intersting blog entry that does not make), traveling for work, and hosting friends and relatives all in the little shoebox apartment that I have.
I look forward to sprouting again soon!
